Ethereum Historical Prices
Early Days · Ethereum launched in 2015 and began trading on exchanges shortly after. In 2017, Ethereum saw explosive growth, rising from around $8 at the start of the year to over $700 by year's end, fueled by the ICO boom.
Volatility · 2018 brought a sharp correction, with prices falling from their highs back below $100 by the end of the year. 2019 and 2020 saw gradual recovery.
Growth and The Merge · 2021 was a breakout year, with Ethereum reaching an all-time high near $4,800 in November. Prices declined significantly in 2022, falling below $1,000 by mid-year, but the network completed its historic transition to proof-of-stake ("The Merge") in September 2022.
Recovery · 2023 saw a steady recovery, nearly doubling to end the year above $2,200. 2024 brought the launch of spot Ethereum ETFs and prices rose above $4,000 in March before settling around $3,300 by year's end. In 2025, Ethereum reached above $4,800 before pulling back sharply.
